Dr Abdul Rahim Ridzuan
Background
Dr. Abdul Rahim Ridzuan is an Associate Professor and a distinguished senior economics lecturer at the Melaka campus of Universiti Teknologi MARA. He has a robust academic background, having completed his undergraduate studies with a degree in Economics, specializing in International Economics, at Universiti Multimedia, Melaka. Dr. Ridzuan then pursued his Master's degree in International Economics at Universiti Putra Malaysia, followed by the successful completion of his Ph.D. in International Economics at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2017. Presently, Dr. Ridzuan holds esteemed positions as a research fellow at the Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (IBDAAI) at Universiti Teknologi MARA and the Centre for Economic Development and Policy (CEDP) at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Additionally, he serves as an associate fellow at the Accounting Research Institute (ARI) and the Institute for Research on Socio-Economic Policy (IRSEP), both at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. He is also actively engaged in international collaborations with various foreign universities, contributing as a Visiting Scholar and Visiting Professor. Dr. Ridzuan's extensive academic involvement extends to numerous academic institutions worldwide. Based on his remarkable track record, he has been appointed as a Visiting Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the University of Cyberjaya in Malaysia, Universitas Negeri Semarang and Universitas Airlangga in Indonesia, the University of Trakya in Turkey, the University of Kadiri in Indonesia, and as a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Lampung in Indonesia and Eurasian National University in Kazakhstan. In addition to his teaching and collaborative roles, Dr. Ridzuan has an impressive record in research and academic supervision. He has successfully guided and graduated one Master of Science student and two Ph.D. students, currently supervising 11 Ph.D. students. His dedication to research is evident in his extensive publication record, which comprises over 200 publications across indexed journals, proceedings, book chapters, newsletters, and other academic outlets. Notably, Dr. Ridzuan has secured research grants RM4million, comprising 49 projects (13 projects as leader) at both the national and international levels. His innovative contributions to academia have garnered more than 28 gold awards and seven special accolades from local and international innovation competitions. Dr. Ridzuan's remarkable achievements have been recognized through various awards, including the prestigious Academic Promising Award in 2018, the Research Promising Award in 2021, and the Most Prolific Author Award in 2020, which underscore his outstanding contributions to his field. In addition, he has received over 25 other awards, such as the Best Article Award, Anugerah Khas Rektor in the General Publication category, Index Publication Awards, Consultation Awards, and various research accolades from IBDAAI. His dedication and contributions to economics and research have made him a respected figure in the academic community.
