
Dr Rodziah binti Atan
Background
Rodziah binti Atan is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Trained in Software Engineering field, her research expertise centers on process modelling and its application in halal industry process management, merging analytical precision with Shariah-compliant governance. Since joining UPM in 2006, a total of 23 postgraduate students (10 Master’s, 13 PhD) have successfully completed their researches under her supervision. She has led and appointed as co-researcher in 28 researches and consultancy projects worth over RM2.0 million. She served as Head of the Halal Policy and Management Laboratory (2016–2023), leading the International Halal Executive Module Development for JAKIM, a key national project enhancing professional talents in Malaysia’s halal agenda internationalization. Her publication record includes 49 citation indexed journal articles, 1 book, 12 book chapters, and 7 keynote speeches, with a Scopus h-index of 15 and Google Scholar h-index of 24. Looking ahead, she envisions contributing further to process-based halal governance and training systems, positioning Malaysia as a global leader in ethical, efficient, and technology-driven halal ecosystem development.
Research Interests
Current research interest are Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) methods, framework, policy and concepts.
