Programme

Six questions for the conversation

Designed for Malaysian students in the UK and participants joining from Malaysia, so every listener can recognise the contribution they can make.

  1. 1

    Building Malaysia's future

Having helped deliver the Gemas to Johor Bahru railway project, you understand what it takes to turn ambitious plans into infrastructure that serves people. Where do you believe AI could make the greatest difference to how Malaysia builds and operates its transport networks?

  2. 2

    Investing in people

Establishing YTL Learning Academy reflects your commitment to developing talent. How would you approach preparing experienced engineers, project managers and frontline workers for AI in a way that builds their confidence and strengthens the value of their existing expertise?

  3. 3

    Women shaping AI

Through Women in Rail Malaysia, you have helped young women see a future in an industry they might never have considered. As AI creates new opportunities across rail and construction, what should employers do now to ensure women have a meaningful role in designing and leading that transformation?

  4. 4

    Turning AI investment into opportunity

With YTL investing in AI infrastructure, what would you most like to see that investment unlock for Malaysian talent and local businesses? Which practical steps would help more people participate in the opportunities it creates?

  5. 5

Making skills part of every project

Women in Rail Malaysia's proposed Rail Industry Skills and Education (RISE) mandate places talent development at the heart of infrastructure investment. Applying that principle to AI, what commitments would you want technology partners to make so that Malaysian teams gain lasting expertise and the confidence to innovate independently?

  6. 6

    A collaboration worth championing

Drawing on your experience connecting Malaysian and international organisations, if you could champion one UK and Malaysia AI initiative in rail, construction or workforce development, what would it be, and what difference would you want ordinary Malaysians to feel?
