Why this exists

This is not another generic publishing workshop.

Most publishing workshops teach structure: introduction, methods, results, discussion, abstract, references. Useful, but incomplete.

The Inner Voice Institute begins one layer deeper: the psychology of writing and being understood.

Before a student can publish confidently, they must understand the voice they are writing from, the reader they are writing for, the editor they are trying to reassure, and the emotional discipline required to keep going after critique, rejection, or silence.

Generic workshops ask

“How do I format this?”

The Inner Voice Institute asks

“Who am I becoming as a writer, and how do I make my work psychologically readable, credible, and memorable?”

About the founder

Dr Aisyah

Editorial role

Lead Section Editor, Human-Centred AI & Psychological Impact, Malaysia AI Review

PhD research

Vocal tone, wellbeing, disclosure, and behavioural responses across cultures

Background

5+ years in public health and high-growth startups

Dr Aisyah is an early-career psychology researcher with more than five years of industry experience across public health and high-growth startup environments. Her work focuses on social emotional learning, positive psychology, wellbeing, tone of voice, disclosure, and public health.

Her PhD examined how vocal tone shapes listeners’ wellbeing, disclosure, and behavioural responses across interpersonal, workplace, healthcare, educational, and cross-cultural settings.

At NeuroCampur, Dr Aisyah serves as Lead Section Editor for Human-Centred AI & Psychological Impact within the Malaysia AI Review. Her editorial remit is to build NeuroCampur’s behavioural science depth by commissioning and reviewing work on AI trust, wellbeing, disclosure, communication quality, public adoption, EDI, healthcare, education, and responsible AI policy.

She previously served as a student journal editor at the University of Essex.

Why it matters

She brings together psychology, publishing, editorial judgement, and applied research communication — a rare combination for students who want their work to be understood, not just submitted.

What makes this different

Five dimensions most workshops never touch

01

Writer identity

You will examine the internal voices shaping your writing: supervisor voice, perfectionist voice, institutional voice, AI voice, and your own research voice.

02

Reader psychology

You will learn how readers decide whether to trust, continue, care, and remember.

03

Editorial psychology

You will understand how editors think about fit, novelty, credibility, reviewer burden, timing, and risk.

04

AI-era authorship

You will learn how to use AI without losing your judgement, originality, accountability, or human voice.

05

Rejection resilience

You will learn how to detach your self-worth from editorial outcomes and convert rejection into the next strategic move.

The learning flow

Where this workshop takes you

  1. Step 1

    Arrive uncertain

“I want to write, but I do not know where to start.”

  2. Step 2

    Find your writing identity

“What kind of researcher-writer am I becoming?”

  3. Step 3

    Understand your reader

“What does my audience need to feel, trust, and understand?”

  4. Step 4

    Decode the editor

“What makes this piece credible, relevant, and worth reviewing?”

  5. Step 5

    Use AI without disappearing

“How do I keep judgement, originality, and ownership?”

  6. Step 6

    Leave with momentum

“I know my next writing move.”

Signature frameworks

The Inner Voice Institute Method

Three lenses to carry into every piece you write — from first identity to final editorial decision.

I.V.I. Method

  • Identity

Who are you becoming as a writer?

  • Voice

How does your thinking sound on the page?

  • Impact

Who needs to understand, trust, and use your ideas?

R.E.A.D.E.R. Lens

  • Relevance

Why should this reader care now?

  • Ease

How cognitively easy is this to follow?

  • Authority

    Why should they trust you?

  • Direction

    Where is the argument going?

  • Emotion

What subtle feeling does the writing create?

  • Resonance

    What will the reader remember?

E.D.I.T.O.R. Lens

  • Evidence fit

    Is the evidence strong enough?

  • Disciplinary fit

Does this belong in this journal or outlet?

  • Integrity

Are the claims ethical and transparent?

  • Timing

    Why does this matter now?

  • Originality

    What does this add?

  • Reviewer burden

How hard is this to send for review?

AI-centric world

How to keep your voice when AI can write faster than you

AI can help you structure, summarise, challenge, edit, and clarify. But AI cannot replace your intellectual responsibility, lived context, ethical judgement, or authorial stance.

In this workshop, Dr Aisyah will show students how to use AI as a mirror, not a mask.

Use AI to sharpen your thinking. Do not use AI to replace your thinking.

Use AI to

  • Use AI to test clarity
  • Use AI to identify reader confusion
  • Use AI to compare versions
  • Use AI to strengthen structure

But never outsource

Your argument, judgement, evidence responsibility, or originality.

What you will leave with

Tangible takeaways, not just inspiration

A clearer writing identity
A healthier publishing mindset
A target-audience map
An editor empathy grid
A first title or abstract direction
An AI boundary statement
A rejection reset plan
A 72-hour writing commitment
